This 10 day tour, starts and ends in Cairo, Egypt. This Egypt tour is designed to provide a great introduction to some of Egypt's best Pharaonic sites in Cairo and the Nile Valley, with a 3-night luxury Nile cruise and time by the Red Sea at Hurghada also included.

Saturday

Cairo

Upon your arrival at Cairo airport, our team will greet you, aid with visa procedures, and assist in collecting your luggage. We'll then arrange your transfer to the hotel. Our representative will facilitate your check-in, providing guidance as needed.
The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your pace. If your flight arrives early, consider exploring the majestic pyramids through a captivating sound and light show, or venture into downtown Cairo for a delightful Nile dinner cruise and show.

Sunday

Pyramids, Sphinx and Museum

Your journey in Egypt starts with a visit to the iconic Sphinx and the majestic pyramids of Giza. Stand at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, once covered in bright white limestone, and admire its grandeur. Nearby, the smaller pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure rise against the desert skyline. You may even get the chance to explore the inside of the pyramids, though guides are not permitted, and tickets for the Great Pyramid are limited.
Next, visit the Egyptian Museum, home to a vast collection of ancient relics, including the famous Tutankhamun exhibit. Your Egyptologist guide will offer insights into Egypt's fascinating history.
At the end of the day, you'll fly to Aswan, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel with stunning Nile views.

Monday

Nile cruise, Aswan

One option this morning is to explore the remarkable temples at the awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage site of Abu Simbel. Departing early, the aim is to witness the breathtaking sunrise over these temples. For those not opting for Abu Simbel, the morning is free for leisure.
Otherwise as dawn breaks over the Nile River, we awake to the captivating panorama of Aswan, a vibrant tapestry of African and Middle Eastern cultures. Our morning invites leisure and exploration, whether strolling along the picturesque Corniche, immersing ourselves in the bustling markets, or delving into the fascinating history of the Nubian people at the Nubian Museum.
We check out of our hotel and we embark on our Nile cruise boat to savor a delectable lunch, the Nile's mesmerizing scenery unfolds before us, its tranquil waters and palm-fringed shores captivating our senses. In the afternoon, we embark on an enthralling excursion to the Temple of Philae, a sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Isis. This architectural marvel, once threatened by the rising waters of Lake Nasser, was meticulously relocated to its current island location. As we approach the temple by boat, its majestic pylons and intricate carvings leave us in awe of the ingenuity and artistry of ancient Egypt.
The rest of the day is free though an option is also available to take a camel ride through the sands on the far bank of the Nile to St. Simeon's monastery.

Tuesday

Kom Ombo, Edfu

Embark on a leisurely sail down the Nile River, enjoying the tranquil waters and the captivating scenery of rural Egyptian life. Our first stop is the Kom Ombo Temple, a unique double sanctuary dedicated to the gods Sobek and Horus. Continue sailing to the magnificent Temple of Horus at Edfu, where we overnight.

Wednesday

Edfu, Luxor

We visit the well-preserved Temple of Horus, adorned with Coptic carvings and paintings, before continuing our Nile journey. As we pass through the impressive Esna Lock, which connects the river's upper and lower sections, we approach Luxor-once the ancient city of Thebes. Luxor is famed for its remarkable concentration of ancient ruins, each telling stories of pharaohs, gods, and Egypt's enduring history.
We end the day with a walking tour of Luxor Temple, illuminated at night, adds a touch of enchantment to your explorations. Enjoy your time discovering these fascinating historical sites in Luxor!

Thursday

Luxor, West bank tour, Karnak temple

The opportunity for an optional hot air balloon flight offers a breathtaking perspective of the West Bank's beauty, especially during sunrise.
Today we cross the River Nile for an early morning tour of Luxor's West Bank, home to the Valley of the Kings and the temples of Queen Hatchepsut, Valley of the Artisans (Deir El-Medina), and the Colossi of Memnon, which promises an incredible insight into ancient Egypt's history and grandeur.
After lunch we delve into the immense Karnak Temple Complex, with its sphinx-lined avenues, towering columns, and divine chapels, unveils the architectural marvels and spiritual significance of this ancient religious center. In the late afternoon, we embark on an enchanting guided walk through the labyrinthine alleys and bustling bazaars of Old Cairo. Your day is yours to seize for any final sightseeing or shopping ventures until we accompany you to the airport for your departure flight.
For those departing in the afternoon or evening, you have the option of a half-day tour exploring Coptic Cairo and the Citadel. Alternatively, delve into the evolution of pyramid building with another half-day tour to Saqqara, Dashour and Memphis. Should you desire an extended stay, additional nights in Cairo provide opportunities for a day trip to the coastal colonial city of Alexandria on the Mediterranean or an excursion into the desert to witness the World Heritage Site of the Valley of the Whales at Wadi Rayan.

2. Age : Minimum Age of 8. Whilst there is no Maximum Age set it is assumed the customer is fit enough to take part in the activity or tour. Health documents may be requested.
3. Single travellers are obliged to pay Single Supplement and will have the hotel room to themselves.
4. Hotel Gala Dinners - Hotel Gala Dinners - Many of Egypt and Jordan's hotels and Nile cruise boats arrange a very special gala dinner with entertainment in the evening on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Payment for these is often optional on Christmas Eve (24 Dec) but may be compulsory on New Year's Eve (31 Dec), whether you attend or not. Prices can range from around US$50 to over US$150 per person. Final decisions on prices and whether dinners are compulsory are made relatively close to the time. We aim to always select hotels that make their Gala Dinners optional, though this is is not always possible. Gala dinner prices are therefore not included in our tour prices, but will be added to your booking if they become required. More information is available on request.
